Ahead of its early access launch tomorrow, the review embargo for Forza Horizon 6 has officially been lifted, with reviews beginning to pour in.
At the time of writing, Forza Horizon 6 has a Metacritic score of 92 and a score of 91 on OpenCritic, matching the scores of its predecessor, Forza Horizon 5.
Let’s take a look at what critics have to say about the latest entry in the open-world racing game series:

“I’ll always concede Forza Horizon 3 may forever be my favourite open-world racer, because who doesn’t love driving around their own backyard, but make no mistake: Forza Horizon 6 is unequivocally the best. The new standard in open-world racing is here, and it’s a gundamn masterpiece.”

“The customization options and an obsession with showering you in positive stimuli make every mile feel worthwhile, but if you’re very familiar with the series, you might agree that some of the formula has become predictable by now. There’s still lots of tread on these tires, though, and it’s enough to make Forza Horizon 6 another joy ride in the most adaptable and enjoyable racing series out there.”

“The Japanese backdrop came at the perfect time; a beautiful accompaniment to a beautiful game. It’s taken 14 years to get here, but I think Forza Horizon 6 finally delivers on the promises the original game made, way back in October 2012.”

“For now, this review can only be judged by what’s put in front of us, and even if Playground Games was to suddenly have a bizarre change of heart and never release a single online update, there’d still be enough in the base game to make it not only the best Forza Horizon game so far, but one of the best racing titles ever made. Anyone with even the slightest interest in the genre should consider this a definite must-have.

“Even for a series built on delivering approachable racing action that appeals to both newcomers and hardcore players, Forza Horizon 6 impresses at each turn, delivering one of the greatest racing games of this generation.”
The game’s initial reception has been overwhelmingly positive, suggesting that Playground Games has produced yet another must-play racing game.
Last weekend, the PC version of the game was leaked, cracked and distributed online by pirates, more than a week before the game’s official launch. In a statement responding to the leak, Playground Games warned users that anyone caught playing the leaked build would be punished with franchise-wide bans and possibly even hardware bans.
