More Assassin’s Creed Shadows Switch 2 details leak, including price and release date

The release date and price for the unannounced Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed shadows has been leaked.

Details on the game’s Switch 2 port have been revealed by Dealabs writer billbil-kun, who has reliably reported on unannounced products and services in the past.

According to Billbil-kun, the Switch 2 version of the game is set to release on December 5th, with both physical and digital versions available. The physical edition will be a Game-Key card, meaning that the full game will still need to be downloaded before playing.

As for pricing, it’s claimed that the game will be sold for €50 in Europe. While US and UK prices are yet to be confirmed, it’s expected that the game will cost $50/£45 based on other Switch 2 titles with identical EU pricing.

Ubisoft is reportedly planning a pre-order phase for the game, and while the pre-order date is currently unknown, Billbil-kun’s data suggests that it should be before November 7th.

The report from Billbil-Kun is the latest of several leaks to reveal details of the unannounced Switch 2 edition. In April, references to a Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows appeared on the PEGI website, listing Nintendo’s console as a supported platform.

Last weekend, French retailer Auchan mistakenly listed the unannounced title on their site, alongside an image of the game’s full box art, which confirmed a Game-Key Card release. The listing has now unsurprisingly been removed, with links to the listing now displaying an error page.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows initially released back in March to generally favourable reviews, scoring 81 on both Metacritic and OpenCritic. In July, Ubisoft revealed that the game had been played by more than five million people across both direct sales and subscription services.
