An unannounced Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows appears on French retailer site

A French retailer has listed a currently unannounced Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, further increasing the chances of an official announcement.

The listing from Auchan, which has now been removed, featured the final box art for the game, along with a brief description: “Experience Assassin’s Creed shadows in a whole new way with Nintendo Switch 2.”

If accurate, the box art confirms that the game will be a Game-Key Card, like the Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws, another Ubisoft title.

This isn’t the first time that references to a Switch 2 version have been made. In April, ratings board PEGI updated the game’s page to include Switch 2 in the list of supported platforms. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot also hinted at a Switch 2 version in July, stating that the game has “some new versions…on other machines.”

Elsewhere, a new Ubisoft subsidiary, Vantage Studios, reportedly commenced operations earlier this month. The company, partly owned by Chinese giant Tencent, will be responsible for managing some of Ubisoft’s biggest IPs, including Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six Siege.
