Nintendo has announced that its next Nintendo Direct presentation will take place this Wednesday, June 18th, and will focus solely on Donkey Kong Bananza.
“Tune in on Wednesday, June 18 for a livestreamed Donkey Kong Bananza Direct presentation,” Nintendo said in a post on the Nintendo Today app.
Releasing on July 17th, Donkey Kong Bananza will be the first Nintendo game to release on Switch 2 following the console’s launch. From what we’ve seen so far, the game will have Donkey Kong exploring various destructable environments alongside a purple, rocky companion. Bananza will also be the first 3D Donkey Kong title since Donkey Kong 64, which released in 1999.
This week’s direct might also confirm the appearance of Pauline, after alternate artwork was mistakenly shared by Nintendo’s Korean site. The site also accidentally shared a Mario Kart World map which included the iconic Rainbow Road track, something Nintendo had seemingly planned to keep secret until the game’s release.
