The Witcher 4 revealed

CD Projekt has officially announced The Witcher 4 with a 6-minute cinematic trailer featuring at The Game Awards. The trailer confirms that Ciri will be the game’s protagonist, having previously featured in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It was also revealed that the trailer was rendered using an “unannounced RTX GPU”, which many have assumed to be one of Nvidia’s upcoming 50 series GPUs.

Last month, CD Projekt confirmed that The Witcher 4 had entered full production.

“I’m thrilled to announce that Project Polaris has entered the full-scale production phase!” game director Sebastian Kalemba said in a post on X. “With new challenges just around the corner, it’s the talented and hard-working people who make me believe we can together make the upcoming Witcher Saga a remarkable experience.

“No stopping now! Stay tuned for what’s on the other side of the coin!”

In 2022, it was announced that development had begun on the next entry in The Witcher series. Codenamed Polaris, the next entry will be the first in a trilogy, and was described as the start of a “new saga for the franchise.”

The Witcher 4 will also be CD Projekt’s first game running on Unreal Engine 5, having switched from their in-house RED Engine following the release of Cyberpunk 2077.
