It’s been confirmed that Redfall, Arkane Austin’s vampire shooter, will not feature a 60fps performance mode at launch.
The news was announced via a post on Twitter, which revealed that the game will only feature a quality mode at launch. The game will run at 4K/30 FPS on Xbox Series X, and 1440p/30 FPS on Xbox Series S. A 60 FPS performance mode has been confirmed to come to the game “at a later date”.
The news is unlikely to settle confusion and frustration surrounding the game. Arkane has already confirmed that players must be connected to the internet to play Redfall at launch, even when playing solo. In response to the backlash, the developer has revealed that they are already looking at reversing this decision, however, any changes would likely come post-launch.
From the creators of Prey (2017), Redfall is an open-world FPS game where up to 4 players battle vampires and cultists in the small town of Redfall, Massachusetts. Initially set to release back in 2022, the game will now launch on May 2nd 2023.
