Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is coming to PS5

Kojima Productions’ first next-gen release will come in the form of a director’s cut for Death Stranding. The Director’s cut will release on PlayStation 5, with a full reveal set to be just “weeks away”.

Industry legend Hideo Kojima revealed the Death Stranding: Director’s Cut during this evening’s Summer Games Fest: Kickoff Live. Kojima also provided a quick look at the upcoming Directors Cut, which features a callback to the Metal Gear Solid franchise Kojima worked on for more than 20 years.

As for what we can expect to see in the Director’s Cut, the teaser doesn’t really give any specific hints. It’s likely that we’ll see the introduction of cut content, much like how many Director’s Cuts in movies and other games tend to be.

It’s currently unclear whether or not the Director’s Cut will come to PC, where Death Stranding released last July. It would be fair to assume that Sony have an agreement with Kojima to see Death Stranding content come to their platforms first.
