Having revealed back in February that Days Gone would be coming to PC, Sony has today announced that the post-apocalyptic action-adventure game will be releasing on May 18th for PC. This will the second game from PlayStation Studios to come to PC, after Horizon Zero Dawn released back in August 2020.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Bend Studio’s Online Community Specialist Kevin McAllister outlined some of the features players can expect to see when the game releases, along with a new trailer.
As detailed in both the trailer and blog post, Days Gone will support unlocked framerates and feature support for 21:9 ultra-wide monitors. The PC version will also include display customisation options for settings such as graphics, level of detail and foliage draw distances. McAllister claims that the array of included settings will allow players to “Play Days Gone the way you want to play.”
Days Gone will also have support for mouse and keyboard, in addition to “1st and 3rd party controllers”, with the PC features trailer confirming support for the DualShock 4, Steam controller and Nintendo Switch Pro controller; both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers were also confirmed to be supported.
Lastly, McAllister revealed that a “super resolution” photo mode will also be included, allowing players to capture the melancholic beauty that post-apocalyptic Oregon has to offer.
Days Gone won’t be the last PlayStation Studios game to go multiplatform, with PlayStation boss Jim Ryan teasing that a “whole slate” of games would be coming to PC in the future.
The timing of this announcement is also somewhat interesting, after Bloomberg reported last week that a Days Gone sequel was unsuccessfully pitched to Sony.
Days Gone will come to PC on May 18th, with the game available to pre-purchase on Steam, Epic Games Store and “a range of digital retailers” as of today.
