Microsoft has provided touch control support to a large selection of titles on their Xbox Game Streaming service. A total of 54 games now have touch control support implemented.
Back in September, Microsoft began supporting cloud games with touch controls, starting with Minecraft Dungeons, before expanding to others such as Gears 5; a limited selection of backwards compatible titles like Viva Pinata have also recently received support.
In an announcement post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft says that touch controls “remain one of the top-requested features for cloud gaming” – it would appear that not everyone is a fan of hooking up a controller to their phone or tablet. By providing touch control support, Microsoft hopes to “unlock new ways” for users to play cloud-enabled games on their mobile devices.
With Microsoft seemingly committed to adding this feature to more games in the future, it also shows their continued commitment to provide better accessibility not only in where we play our games, but also how.
