Bethesda has revealed that work has begun on an Indiana Jones game. The game is being developed by Wolfenstein developer MachineGames alongside Lucasfilm Games, with Todd Howard acting as executive producer. The game will feature an original story as apposed to reliving any of Dr. Jones’ past adventures.
The announcement was made via a statement on Twitter alongside a brief teaser. In it, we can see various items including books and notes on ancient monuments, a heavily used diary and an overnight plane ticket to Rome; while the game is very early in production, this could be a potential setting. The teaser ends with a shot of Indy’s iconic hat and whip as the franchise’s famous theme plays.
With Microsoft’s acquisition of Zenimax Media expected to be completed in the coming months, it’ll be interesting to see whether the Game releases on Xbox Game Pass or perhaps even be a platform exclusive.
