EA gives fans a first look at FIFA 21 on next-gen consoles

With next-gen consoles finally starting to roll out across the globe, EA have provided a small tease of what to expect from the shiny new version of FIFA 21.

The screenshots, which were shared across the FIFA social channels, show FUT 21 ambassadors Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool FC) and João Félix (Atletico De Madrid) in immense detail. Surprisingly, Norwegian wonderkid and FUT 21 ambassador Erling Braut Haaland (Borussia Dortmund) was not featured in EA’s latest tease.

FIFA 21’s next-gen versions are set to release on December 4th, and owners of the current-gen version can upgrade for free as part of EA’s Dual Entitlement scheme (it’s worth noting that disc owners with a discless console will have to contact EA to receive their upgrade.)

Players who upgrade to the next-gen version of FIFA 21 will see “blazing fast” load times thanks to the SSD tech in the new systems; the PS5 version of the game will also make use of the Dualsense’s haptic feedback, yet no specific details have been revealed. In addition, progress for both FIFA Ultimate Team and VOLTA Football will carry over to next-gen, however, modes such as career mode will not see saves carry over.
