Insomniac Games’ highly anticipated Spider-Man game is releasing exclusively on PS4 September 7th – yet another game staying well clear of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The news was announced by PlayStation earlier today alongside details such as box art, special editions and post-launch content. The game will feature a season pass which grants access to three episodic story chapters as part of a story titled ‘The City That Never Sleeps’. These expansions will also introduce new Spidey suits, characters and missions.
Speaking of Spidey suits, those who pre-order any edition of the game will receive a Spidey suit pack. This pre-order bonus contains the Spider-punk outfit as well as two other suits which are yet to be revealed; those who pre-order will also receive a theme, PSN avatar, spider drone gadget and five extra skill points.
Alongside the standard edition of the game, a couple of special editions have also been revealed. First, the special edition includes the game, a collectable steelbook, mini artbook, White Spider sticker as well as the aforementioned pre-order content.

The collector’s edition contains everything in the Special edition plus the season pass and a Spider-Man statue (the bottom half has yet to have been revealed, likely to avoid spoiling a future reveal.)

It’s almost certain that we’ll see more from the game at E3 in just two months time.
