Firewatch developer Campo Santo have announced that a Nintendo switch version of the game is in the works. As for a release date? “soon” is all they have currently said.

In a post to the developer’s blog, Firewatch writer and designer Jake Rodkin had the following to say in regards to bring the game to the hybrid system:
“We’ve been hard at work stripping much of Firewatch’s tech down to the studs and rebuilding it to render the world more quickly, to stream and load faster, and to generally be more responsive. Nearly everyone in the Campo Santo office has a Nintendo Switch (and the rest want one). We know what a good Switch game feels like, and want to make sure Firewatch feels like one too.”
Rodkin also teased some potential “Surprises” for the Nintendo switch version.
Firewatch initially launched on PS4 and PC in February 2016 before releasing on Xbox One later that year. The game also received great praise from critics and players alike.
This also isn’t Campo Santo’s only project in the works, In the Valley of the Gods is set to release sometime next year.
