Rockstar Games has revealed the first look at Grand Theft Auto 6’s cover art, along with details regarding pre-orders.
“Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers,” reads a post on X.
News that pre-orders will commence next week will be welcome to many, as this suggests that the game is unlikely to be delayed beyond its November 19th release date. Most digital platforms also don’t offer pre-orders for games that are more than a year away, which may further reduce fears of a delay.
A big question that is yet to be answered is how much GTA 6 will cost, as Rockstar and publisher Take-Two Interactive remain tight-lipped on the subject. With development costs estimated to be well beyond $1 billion, many industry analysts have suggested that the game could be priced as high as $100 to cover the massive costs built up over the last decade.
Back in April, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick hinted that the publisher would ensure that the game’s price would be “fair” for players.
“Consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way way way less of the value delivery,” Zelnick said. “How you feel about something you buy is the intersection of the thing itself and what you pay for. Consumers need to feel like the thing itself is amazing and the price they were charged was fair for what they got.”
“What we think about is making the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history – and it’s a pretty daunting challenge.”
“If we do that, and if we’re of service to our customers, then the upside will take care of itself.”
