Square Enix reveals Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the third and final part of the remake trilogy

Square Enix has revealed that the final part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is called Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. The game will release in Spring 2027.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation was revealed at this year’s Summer Game Fest, where it was also announced that the game will no longer release as a timed exclusive on PlayStation. The trilogy’s finale will release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Switch 2 simultaneously.

“As the world teeters on the brink of annihilation, the final battle against Sephiroth begins,” a description for the game reads. “A meteor mars the sky, monstrous planetary guardians wreak havoc across the globe, and the fires of war rage.”

“Now, Cloud and his companions must stand against this chaos to not only decide the planet’s fate, but bring a legendary conflict to its conclusion.”

“In the final chapter of the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project, the scale has never been larger and the stakes have never been higher. Take to the skies and explore a boundless world, fight alongside a fully assembled party, master strategic and dynamic combat, and prepare yourself for the climactic finale.”

“A vast planet awaits. Everything leads here.”

According to director Naoki Hamaguchi, the key theme of this game is resolve, as Cloud and his team face the end of their journeys, both personally and as a group.

“The central theme of this title is resolve,” Hamaguchi said. “Cloud and his companions each confront their own destinies, and find the resolve to march towards the final battle.”

“I too have carried a promise in my heart throughout this journey – the resolve to see this series through to its very end. We’re committed to delivering this experience in its ultimate form. Please stay with us, and witness what lies beyond that resolve.”
