Xbox and Discord have announced a partnership that offers Discord Nitro subscribers a unique “Starter Edition” of Xbox Game Pass.

The new Starter Edition will grant Discord Nitro subscribers access to a library of over 50 PC and console titles, with new titles being added “periodically”. The Starter Edition will also grant access to Game Pass’ game streaming feature, although it is a limited version capped at 10 hours per month.

“I think this is one of the best benefits we’re offering because it changes how you try games,” said Lu Zhang, Senior Director of Product at Discord. “Most of us have spent money on something, played it for a couple weeks, then watched it sit in our library. Game Pass removes that friction.”

“The starter edition of Game Pass also comes with 10 hours of cloud gaming, so you can stream games right away on more devices,” Zhang added. “Whether you’re into survival, strategy, co-op, or just want to farm in peace, there’s something in there for you.”

Those who wish to make use of this new benefit will first need to link their Discord and Microsoft accounts, then redeem the bonus through the Nitro Rewards page found in the Nitro Home tab.

If you already have an active Game Pass membership, you will also receive Discord Nitro perks as part of the partnership. Starting later this month, Game Pass subscribers will receive 250 Discord Orbs per month, 1.2x extra orbs from completing quests, and automatically applied discounts in the Discord Shop.
