In a post on X/Twitter, Rockstar Games co-founder Sam Houser has confirmed that the first trailer for GTA 6 will be released in “early December.”
“Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games. Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about,” Houser’s statement read.
“Without you, none of this would be possible, and we are so grateful to all of you for sharing this journey with us.
“In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution.
“We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.”

Rockstar is planning to announce the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series as early as this week.
That’s according to a new report from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who cited sources familiar with Rockstar’s upcoming plans. The developer also plans to release a trailer in December as part of Rockstar’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
Rockstar was at the centre of one of the industry’s biggest leaks last year, as hackers obtained and published more than an hour of development footage from the next GTA game. The footage seemingly confirmed reports that the next entry in the series will take place in Vice City. The leak also confirmed that the game will feature both a male and female protagonist, supposedly inspired by Bonnie & Clyde.
Following the leak, Rockstar released a statement saying that it was “extremely disappointed” that game details had been shared in this manner. The developer reassured fans that the breach had not impacted development and would “properly introduce you to this next game when it is ready.”
Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive are scheduled to report their quarterly earnings later today, meaning a potential announcement could be due imminently.
