Following a series of leaks, Activision has confirmed that this year’s Call of Duty will be Modern Warfare 3 and will release on November 10.
The game will be a sequel to last year’s Modern Warfare 2 and is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, creators of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014), Call of Duty: WWII (2017) and Call of Duty: Vanguard (2021).
Last month, a Twitter poll posted by the official Call of Duty account seemingly confirmed that this year’s game will allow players to carry over their Modern Warfare 2 operators, weapons and bundles to Modern Warfare 3.
Back in February, a report from Bloomberg claimed that this year’s Call of Duty started as an expansion for Modern Warfare 2, but has since evolved into a full-blown game. The report also claimed that maps and modes from Modern Warfare 2 will be brought over to the new game.
