The Game Awards will be returning for its ninth show this December, it’s been announced.
Revealed by host and producer Geoff Keighley, the award show will be streamed live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 8th.
This year’s iteration will include a new category for best adaptation, which will recognise a movie, series, novel, podcast, comic book or other adaptation of gaming IP. The introduction of this new award has been well timed, with series based on Halo, Cuphead and Resident Evil having released this year, in addition to the Uncharted movie that released back in February.
The Game Awards will also be the third show produced by Keighley this year, having already worked on Summer Games Fest in June and Gamescom’s Opening Night Live taking place tomorrow.
