Elden Ring delayed to February 2022, Network Test also announced

Elden Ring, From Software’s highly-anticipated game is the latest game to be hit with a delay. The game’s initial release date was January 21st 2022, but has now been pushed back by a month; the game will now release on February 25th 2022.

According to a post from the official Elden Ring Twitter account, the decision to delay the game was because “the depth and strategic freedom of the game exceeded initial expectations.”

While fans will have to wait an extra month till release, it was also announced that a select number of players will get an opportunity to play the game before launch via a closed network test. Those who wish to participate in the network test have till November 1st to sign up at the Elden Ring website. Players will then receive an invite should they be selected.

The network test will take place from November 12th to November 15th, and will only be available on console.

Elden Ring was announced back at E3 2019, and is a collaborative effort between developer From Software and Game of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin. Two years later, the game was fully revealed during this year’s Summer Games Fest: Kickoff Live! event.

Elden Ring will now release on February 25th 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
