After a successful start to their collaboration with Nintendo, Lego have announced that the latest addition to the Lego Super Mario collection.
The Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block seems very basic on the surface, an even blockier replica of the iconic item box everyone’s favourite plumber bashes. But inside, are detailed mini dioramas of 4 areas from the Nintendo 64 classic: Peach’s Castle, Bob-omb Battlefield, Cool, Cool Mountain and Lethal Lava Trouble. This quartet of locations are hinged, and can fold out of the block to be displayed, check out the video below to see how it all works:
The set contains 2064 pieces and will cost £160/€170/$170. Sadly, there are no minifigures as the set is micro-figure scale, similar to the early Minecraft sets from way back in 2012. However, for those who own the Mario or Luigi interactive toys, you’ll be able to access 10 hidden power stars that “reveal secret reactions and more.”
The Lego Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block (jeez that’s a mouthful), goes on sale from October 1st at Lego stores in addition to their online store. If you’re interested, be sure to set a reminder, as there is no way to pre-order at the time of writing.
