Insomniac Games are developing a Wolverine game

Insomniac Games, developer of Ratchet & Clank and the Spider-Man games, have announced that they’re working on a Wolverine game. The game was announced as part of Sony’s PS5 showcase, offering fans a brief teaser of the grizzled anti-hero.

A post by Insomniac’s Ryan Schneider on the PlayStation Blog reveals that discussions surrounding a Wolverine game had been ongoing for a few years before Insomniac made their pitch. The game is being directed by Brian Horton and Cameron Christian, who recently led a team on developing Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

“In the vein of our Spider-Man games, our goal here is to not only respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular, but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit” Schneider writes.

It was also confirmed that the game is “very early in development”, meaning it’ll likely be a while before we get another look at Insomniac’s version of the iconic mutant.
