This year’s FIFA instalment will allow pro clubs players to create female virtual pros for the first time in the franchise’s history. The news comes a few weeks after it was announced that England legend Alex Scott would become the series’ first female commentator.
For those unfamiliar with Pro Clubs, the mode lets players create their own virtual pro and earn skill points to improve various attributes such as shooting and tackling. The mode also lets players form their own club and play alongside friends in a quest to ascend the footballing pyramid. The mode has been a beloved part of FIFA games since 2010, yet female pros have been absent for far too long.
Now, FIFA players will be able to create their own female virtual pro, before heading to the pitch in 11v11 mixed matches. The short clip below gives us a small preview of what that will look like:
Women’s football has been a part of the FIFA games since FIFA 16, debuting with a selection of national teams available in kick-off mode, before also featuring in the more recently introduced VOLTA mode.
This is another big step towards making FIFA a more inclusive game series, however there’s still no word from EA on when we can expect the introduction of the Women’s Super League to football’s biggest game franchise.
