Cyberpunk 2077 has once again been delayed, CD Projekt Red has announced.
In a statement posted on twitter this afternoon, CDPR bosses Adam Badowski and Marcin Iwinski announced that the game is now set to release on December 10th, a delay of 21 days. There was no mention of the studio crunch highlighted in a article by Bloomberg which reported the studio is now “in overdrive.”
In the statement, Badowski and Iwinski acknowledge the frustration caused by the delay, saying “Most likely, there are many emotions and questions in your heads, so, first and foremost, please accept our humble apologies.”
The team at CD Projekt Red are currently working on “improvements” which will be included in a “Day 0 patch”, which is where the extra development time will be spent. The statement also mentions that the game has “evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way” which may suggest the current-gen versions require more attention.
This is the third time that Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed, having originally been slated to release on April 16th before being moved to September 17th, and then delayed again to November 19th.
