Nintendo has revealed Metroid Ravenous, a new 2D Metroid game.

The game was revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct, with a release date of January 28th, 2027.

The game’s main tagline looks to be “It’s eat or be eaten”, which seemingly refers to an ominous ability that allows Samus to feed on her enemies.

Two Metroid Ravenous Amiibo have been revealed, depicting Samus and a Chozo Statue, which will be available alongside the game at launch.

A third Amiibo, which depicts Samus’ Metroid suit, will be available as part of the game’s Special Edition, which also includes the game and a collectable steelbook.

The Metroid Suit Amiibo might be made available as a standalone purchase in the future, but as it stands, the only was to obtain this particualr Amiibo is by purchasing the game’s Special Edition.
