Bethesda has confirmed that it is working with Obsidian Entertainment on a new Fallout game.

In a statement, the developer revealed plans for all of its major IPs, promising plenty of new games and content.

“The wasteland continues to expand as we team up once again with our longtime friends at Obsidian Entertainment,” the statement read. “We’re happy to confirm they’re working with us on a new Fallout project. We’ll have more to share in the future.”

Last week, it was reported that Obsidian had cancelled a sequel to Avowed and shifted its focus to work on a new Fallout game.

Bethesda also announced that Fallout 5 is currently in preproduction, and that both The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 will run on Creation Engine 3. The studio stressed that currently, the main priority is The Elder Scrolls VI, with most Bethesda employees currently working on the highly anticipated title.

“Fallout 5 is currently in preproduction. The Elder Scrolls VI is our primary development focus today, with the majority of our team currently working on the next chapter of the franchise,” Bethesda said. “With over 65 million copies sold, players are still exploring Skyrim 15 years later, but we know it’s been a very long wait for the sequel.

“The next chapter is on the way. We’re where we planned to be, loving how it looks, and playing it every day.”

Bethesda’s statement also revealed that remasters of both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are currently in development, but declined to share any further details.
