Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 40 million copies

CD Projekt Red has revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 40 million copies. The figure includes sales from both the launch version of the game and the Ultimate Edition bundle, which was released in 2023.

The developer revealed the landmark milestone in a post on X (formerly Twitter), which confirms that a further 5 million copies have been sold since CD Projekt Red last reported on the game’s sales in November.

CD Projekt CEO MichaÅ‚ Nowakowski spoke about the milestone sales figures, stating that it is a testament to the game’s lasting strength and quality.

“40 million copies sold shows the incredible, lasting strength of Cyberpunk 2077 and is a testament to what CD PROJEKT does best – creating high-quality, immersive stories that keep players returning for years,” Nowakowski said. “It’s a great foundation for our upcoming projects in this universe, including the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 anime arriving this fall.”

It was also revealed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had sold a huge 65 million copies since its release in 2015, with the game’s third major expansion, Songs of the Past, set to release next year.
