Revealed during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest showcase, Insomniac Games confirmed that Spider-Man 2 will release on October 20th, with pre-orders opening on June 16th. The game’s pre-order bonuses and various editions were also detailed in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
Pre-order bonuses
Firstly, pre-ordering any edition of the game will grant you early access to the Arachknight suit for Peter and the Shadow-Spider suit for Miles, with each suit offering three colour variations. Pre-ordering will also give you the web grabber gadget as an early unlock as well as three skill points.

Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99 / £79.99/ €89.99)
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the aforementioned pre-order bonuses, as well as ten additional suits (5 for Peter, 5 for Miles). Additionally, players will receive “additional photo mode items” and two extra skill points.
Insomniac also revealed that these Digital Deluxe Edition suits were designed by “guest artists” from comics, films and other members of PlayStation Studios.

Collector’s Edition ($79.99 / £79.99/ €89.99)
The Collector’s Edition includes both the pre-order bonuses and Digital Deluxe Edition content, a Steelbook case, and a 19-inch statue which features Peter and Miles battling Venom. It’s also worth pointing out that the included copy of the game in this edition comes in the form of a digital download code, not a physical disc.
The Collector’s Edition is seemingly a PlayStation Direct exclusive in “select markets”, those being the US, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, Spain and Portugal. More news is expected to follow regarding availability for countries without a PlayStation Direct.

Spider-Man 2 will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as the famous web-slinger, with players being able to switch between the two Spider-Men. Venom and Kraven the Hunter have also been confirmed as two of the main villains, with more expected to be revealed when the game releases on October 20th, exclusively on PS5.
