PlayStation announces State of Play for Wednesday

PlayStation have announced that the next State of Play has been scheduled for tomorrow, March 9th, at 10PM UK time.

The broadcast will be streamed on Twitch and YouTube, and is set to last around 20 minutes. This latest State of Play will include updates and first looks for both PS4 and PS5 titles, with the focus primarily on games from Japanese publishers.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, the platform holder confirmed that there will be no updates on PSVR2 or hardware, amid early murmurings of a more substantial revision to the PS5.

So what can we expect to see during tomorrow’s State of Play? With the spotlight firmly on titles from Japanese publishers, it would be a safe bet to assume that Square Enix will make an appearance with Final Fantasy 16; perhaps there’ll even be a glimpse of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part Two.

Elsewhere in Japan, Capcom recently announced the next Street Fighter instalment, Street Fighter 6, perhaps this is the perfect opportunity to show off more of the next entry in the series. There have also been multiple outlets reporting on the anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake from Capcom, maybe now is the time to reveal the next remake in the storied franchise.
