Outriders is coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch

Following a cryptic tease over the weekend, Microsoft has confirmed that People Can Fly’s sci-fi RPG shooter Outriders is coming to Xbox Game Pass on launch day, April 1st.

The announcement comes after the developer revealed that over 2 million people have downloaded the demo, with one player having spent more than 250 hours in Enoch. For those looking to jump into the demo, it’s worth noting that Outriders supports cross-play between Xbox, PlayStation and PC; you’re also able to carry over your demo progress to the full game. However, players looking to switch between platforms as they progress may be disappointed, as the game currently doesn’t support any kind of cross-progression.

So far the demo has been fairly well received, with praise being given specifically to the combat (think Destiny’s class system combined with Gears of War’s cover shooting.) That’s not to say that Outriders has dodged criticism though, with the main complaints being over the top motion blur, some iffy writing, and excessive camera shake in cutscenes.

Outriders releases on April 1st for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
