Over 19 million players picked up Battlefront 2 during Epic Games’ giveaway

After a week long giveaway and a number of server issues caused by a huge player influx, it’s been announced that more than 19 million people took advantage of Epic’s latest freebie: Star Wars Battlefront 2.

This staggering statistic was revealed courtesy of EA Star Wars’ Twitter account last night, alongside a message of gratitude to all those who’re jumping into a galaxy far, far away.

“Thank you so much for the continued support, even after our final content drop!” the post read. “We’ll watch your careers with great interest! May the Force be with you, troopers!”

After an incredibly turbulent launch period back in 2017, Battlefront 2 has since become more representative of the product fans deserved, with many calling on DICE and EA to continue supporting the game with content; sadly, that won’t be the case, with the game’s final content update coming in April of last year.

With the next Battlefield game set to release this holiday season, it looks as though DICE have all hands on deck to ensure the game is in the best possible shape at launch.
