Sony has announced that Ghost of Tsushima will be getting a brand new multiplayer mode later this year.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a multiplayer co-op experience set in an environment that is “haunting and fantastical” according to Darren Bridges, Senior Game Producer at Sucker Punch Productions.
Legends will feature a 2 player co-op story based on the legends told by the residents of Tsushima during the main game featuring “locations and enemies inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology and an emphasis on cooperative combat and action.” Players can also matchmake in up to teams of 4 to take on wave-based survival missions featuring the new supernatural Oni enemies. Legends will also introduce 4 unique classes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin; Bridges teased more in-depth information will be coming in the future.
A 4 player raid was also confirmed to be introduced shortly after Legends’ release, promising a greater challenge to those who master the story and survival modes.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is coming later this year on PS4 as a free download for those who own Ghost of Tsushima, however an active PS Plus membership will be required.
