Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch has been officially announced – and it’s coming this year.

The biggest announcement during tonight’s Nintendo Direct showed off a teaser featuring Splatoon’s Inkling boy and Inkling girl, which confirms their inclusion in the roster. In addition, characters such as Mario and Link (in his BOTW outfit) will be returning for the series’ 5th instalment.

Unsurprisingly, no release date or further information was given during the broadcast, however it’s more or less confirmed to be appearing at E3 this year. Seeing as Nintendo’s online service is launching this autumn, there’s arguably nothing better for the service to launch alongside.

It looks as though all roads once again lead to E3.
